At this time, we are out of network with all insurance companies, but are able to provide you with a superbill for you to send to your insurance to get reimbursed directly. Please call your insurance company to ask about your out-of-network benefits.

On our schedule we book sessions for 1 hour which includes about 50 minutes with your child and then some time to check in with you to provide you with updates and resources based on the session.

We typically recommend meeting weekly to help establish the therapeutic relationship and provide consistency for your child. We understand that this may not be doable for everyone or may be difficult lining up schedules for, so we also sometimes see children every 2 weeks. This is something that will be discussed in your intake session once your therapist has an idea of what would best fit your needs.

We cater our therapy plans to fit your needs, so can adjust to do longer session times or more/less frequent appointments depending on your ongoing needs. This is one of the aspects that your therapist will continue to collaborate with you on.

The length of therapy will be dependent on your child’s needs and goals. During the intake appointment we assess your needs and collaborate with you to make a plan to best fit your child. This plan will continue to grow and change with your child and we will be in constant communication with you to make sure the schedule is reflecting what would be most helpful. The way we schedule is by setting a recurring appointment so that you can more easily incorporate it in your schedule and also to give your child a sense of consistency.

The first appointment will be an intake with caregivers only (an exception is made for older teenagers who may want to be part of the intake process also). During this intake we will collect information about your child, their behaviors, and their environment and relationships at home, school, and elsewhere, and work together to create a plan to best fit their needs.

We recommend you comparing therapy in a way that you think your child would best understand and be open to, for example, saying that in the same way they have a teacher, doctor, coach, etc., this is a place for them to go to learn more about their feelings. Some parents refer to us as a feelings coach, feelings teacher, or feelings doctor to help put things in perspective (just make sure you’re using a term that your child will associate with hope instead of fear).

We also have some book recommendations on this topic you can use at home with your child or that we may introduce in our first session.

We strongly believe in a collaborative approach to therapy so aim to involve parents as much as possible by gathering insight from you and keeping you updated after each session. We will provide you with resources and recommendations for you to be able to use outside of session with your child to continue the work we are doing outside of the therapy room.

Yes. We know how important it is to have the team of people working with you to help your child all be on the same page. We are happy to communicate with your child’s teachers and specialists to gain insight into what they are seeing, hear about approaches working well for them, and provide recommendations on how they can better support your child in their settings. The only thing we would need from you to be able to do this, is to fill out a Release of Information form providing us with consent to discuss your child with these other individuals.

Yes, we offer telehealth services across the state of Florida. We also understand that some weeks can differ in your schedule so also offer virtual appointments as you need (special event, vacation, sick, or it just being easier that day to not come into the office), even if you prefer to usually come in person.
